Know When To Inspect And Replace Your Brakes
To keep braking performance at its optimum level, an inspection every six months is recommended. Because brake pads and shoes are hidden behind the wheels, it is difficult to see how much product life is remaining. See your authorized Mazda Dealer for a brake inspection and ask about our Lifetime Limited Warranty on Genuine Mazda and Value Products by Mazda Brake Pads and Shoes.

Our Story
The story of the John Kennedy Dealerships is one of longevity and growth that has been nurtured by the Kennedy family since 1955. Always learning and adjusting to the changes in the automotive retail and service business, the Kennedy’s have made their group of eight dealerships the first choice of multitudes of residents in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Mazda came into the family in 2003 when our Conshohocken dealership opened under the John Kennedy name. Sales were handled out of a small building at the end of the display lot while a new dealership was built where an old warehouse stood next to the Ford dealership.
Our Mazda store in Pottstown arrived in January of 2007. A large parcel of land that was next to our Ford dealership on W. Ridge Road was the perfect home for our second Mazda dealership.
From the moment you walk through the door of any John Kennedy Dealership, our commitment to providing a convenient and enjoyable buying and servicing experience will be evident. We have many tenured salespeople and service staff that have built a loyal following through their genuine concern for a customer’s needs blended with a friendly disposition.
“Dealing with Kennedy was great”, we hear that sentiment quite often from our customers. It’s our people, our facilities, and our attention to our customer’s needs that create an environment where you can enjoy buying a car. We don’t stop there either; your ownership experience is just as important and we strive to provide the same enjoyment to your service experience as well. When we say “Enjoy Your Ride”, it starts when you first step into one of our dealerships.

Brake Repair in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania
If you're driving around Conshohocken, PA, reliable brakes are essential for handling our changing road conditions. That’s why brake service at John Kennedy Mazda Conshohocken is fast, affordable, and thorough.
Importance of Regular Brake Maintenance
The main reasons for maintaining your braking system are:
- It keeps you and your passengers safe: Safety is the number one reason for ensuring your brakes are always in optimal shape. Even a few extra yards of braking distance can distinguish between a tragedy and a near miss.
- It can save you money: Regular brake maintenance is much cheaper than the alternative. Neglecting your brakes will eventually lead to bigger issues that are more difficult and expensive to repair.
- It gives you peace of mind: Routine brake inspections ensure you can stop confidently in any condition—especially important during icy Conshohocken winters.
Common Signs Your Brakes Need Repair
While you should service your brakes regularly, you should also look for signs of wear and tear. Some of the most common signs that your braking system needs repair include:
- Your dashboard's brake light comes on: Many modern cars have sensors within the braking system. If they detect something isn't operating as it should, the brake light warns you to have a brake service as soon as possible.
- Your brake pedal is softer than usual: If your brake pedal feels softer than usual, moisture or air may have contaminated the braking system. You should fix this right away.
- Your car vibrates when you press the brake pedal: If you feel strange vibrations when hitting the brake pedal, you may have a faulty rotor. You should service your brakes because this may affect braking performance.
- Your brakes make squeaking noises when you press the pedal: A small object lodged in your braking system may cause squeaking noises, but they can also indicate you need new brake pads. Brake pad manufacturers often design pads to make a high-pitched noise when worn out, so you know when to replace them.
How Conshohocken's Climate Affects Brake Performance
Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, has a diverse climate, with significant differences in temperature between summer and winter. Cold and snowy winters can cause your braking fluid to thicken, making it less responsive when needed. The road salt that local authorities use to clear snow from public roads can get into your brake lines, drums, and calipers, slowly corroding them. Excessive moisture is also a factor for premature braking system wear during winter.
Hot summers also put extra strain on your vehicle's brakes. Repeated braking on hot days may cause your brake pads to overheat, affecting their stopping power and making them wear out quicker than usual. Excessive heat may also cause metal parts, such as pads and rotors, to expand slightly, potentially causing vibrations during braking.
Our Comprehensive Brake Repair Services
Here at John Kennedy Mazda Conshohocken, our experienced technicians will help keep your brakes in optimal shape all year round. We offer a range of brake repair services.
Disc and Drum Brake Repairs
Most modern vehicles have brake discs that press against brake pads to slow the car down when needed. This constant friction will wear out pads and discs over time, eventually requiring replacement. While discs are likely to last much longer than pads, they'll eventually become too thin to provide consistent and effective braking.
Drum brakes are found on older vehicles; press against the brake shoes to reduce speed. While they're usually more durable than disc brakes, they're more challenging to repair and maintain. Whatever type of brakes your vehicle has, you can count on us at John Kennedy Mazda Conshohocken to service and repair them quickly and effectively.
Brake Fluid Replacement and Maintenance
Over time, your vehicle's brake fluid will deteriorate and lose its ability to transfer the energy created by depressing the brake pedal to the discs and pads. Our technicians will analyze its current state to determine if you need a top-off or a complete replacement.
Advanced Diagnostics and Problem Solving
Many things could go wrong since a vehicle's braking system is quite complex. Here at John Kennedy Mazda Conshohocken, our factory-trained technicians use modern diagnostic equipment to identify issues that may be challenging to spot with a visual examination. This level of precision enables us to determine each braking component's level of wear and tear. If there's a problem that's already affecting braking performance, we'll address it right away. Alternatively, we'll recommend when you need to make another visit to our service center.
